GRAND RAPIDS, MICH – For Immediate Release
BAMF Health is honored to announce their recent award of the Radiopharmaceutical Therapy Accreditation, as selected by the members from the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) and the Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC). The accreditation program, which launched in June 2023, is aimed at recognizing proficiency and competency in radiopharmaceutical therapy. BAMF proudly stands alongside Carilion Clinic and Stanford Health as they accept this prestigious designation.
BAMF Health’s Comprehensive Theranostics Center opened in Summer 2022 with the mission of advancing medicine and facilitating affordable and accessible Theranostics care for patients who have exhausted all available, conventional options. While striving to achieve optimal patient outcomes, they recognized the importance of balancing an exceptional patient experience while always keeping safety front of mind. Safety not only for the patient, but also for their dedicated team of clinical experts.
“Five years ago, a colleague reminded me that to facilitate the highest level of care, we must prioritize the safety and well-being of our team members. That was a pivotal moment in my career and a lesson that I prioritize to this day,” said Todd Faasse, MPH, CNMT, BAMF Health’s Nuclear Medicine Operations Specialist. “We must do the right thing and do it efficiently, so we can offer the best possible care to our patients.”
Establishing a safe environment to conduct lifesaving Theranostics began years before the first patient walked through the doors. In 2018, there was no model to replicate. Decisions were made based on what the future standard of delivering Theranostics care should look like. These decisions included designing, building, and certifying a modern Theranostics platform while hiring experienced medical professionals to run the enterprise safely and efficiently.
When the team began to outline elements of the clinic, they prioritized the safety and functionality of the often-overlooked built environment. Equal attention was given to clinic rooms where care is administered and to those environmental elements that keep everyone safe. From the wider-than-average width of the hallways to the safe handling of radiopharmaceuticals and lead-integrated case goods and furniture, all patients and team members at BAMF Health can interact safely.
“We were mindful to balance the quality of care being delivered with the experience of our team members and the needs of our patients and their families,” said Laurie Placinski, NCIDQ, EDAC, LEED AP, Vice President of Built Environments. “To build something from the ground up relies not only on input from design experts but also from team members who will be carrying out their job duties each day. When the team’s needs are fully met, they can facilitate more compassionate care for the patient.”
As we reaffirm our promise to prospective, current, and future patients, BAMF Health will continue to promote the highest standards of safe and efficient care as we achieve affordable and accessible Theranostics delivered to everyone that needs it.
